2011: Poland and Hungary assume presidency of the EU

Hungary and Poland will both hold the EU presidency for the first time in 2011. Hungary will preside over the first half of the year, and Poland will preside over the last half. Hungary and Poland joined the EU in 2004. Both countries will be responsible for hosting thousands of meetings, conferences, and summits during their 6 month tenures.
