2010: 35th anniversary of the personal computer

Created by Micro Instrumentation Telemetry Systems in 1975, the Altair 8800 is commonly thought to be the first Personal Computer (PC). When the Altair 8800 was featured on the cover of Popular Electronics in January 1975, its large-scale attention galvanized many entrepreneurs to establish computer hardware and software production companies such as Apple.
