General Motors has declared that it will produce a commercial model of its Hy-wire car by 2010. The name stands for "Hydrogen drive-by-wire", as the car
will run on hydrogen fuel cells and be controlled electronically - no steering wheel, engine or pedals involed. It will thus become the first U.S.-produced hydrogen-fuelled car.
